Some Tips On Eco Living

It’s not just buying an eco –phone that helps, it’s a bunch of things really and here’s a few tips be eco-friendly and how to save money at the same time.

Make sure you unplug your appliances, any computers, mobile chargers etc, switch off lights and appliances, saving electricity saves you money and saves fossil fuels too.

Don’t pay for packaging, excessive packaging makes food and goods expensive, so buy locally, buy seasonal, this is very eco-friendly as it reduces food miles, saves fuel, saves energy, check out any farmers markets near you.

And if you drive there, try and combine your shopping trips, take some friends with you to shop, or buy more so that you reduce your miles, saves fuel, less traffic, fewer emissions in to the atmosphere and farmers markets are fun, you meet local people.

Choose cloth over paper for cleaning up stuff, spills, wiping your hands.  Using cloth will save you lots of paper alternatives, that’s unless its recycled paper, but still cloth is a better alternative in the long run. Showers are so much cheaper than baths.  Get your-self a water barrel to get free water for your plants, garden or other non-drinking applications.  Turn the tap off when you brush your teeth or when you’re washing dishes.  And you can get low-flow shower heads and toilets.

PS, don't forget to change your light bulbs to energy saving ones...
