Carbon Tracking Apps

Use a carbon calculator to predict your carbon usage then use these carbon tracking apps to get an idea of what you’re actually contributing to atmospheric CO2 levels.

MyEarth – Track carbon savings

This app was developed by researchers and students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Human Ecology. It’s a simple app which allows you to specify tasks you do and shows the amount of carbon they produce. It will also encourage you to make small changes and see their impact.

GridCarbon

See how much carbon is being used in the UK right now. Kind of like this renewable energy map of the world resource we posted before. Instead of looking at green energy consumption flows worldwide, you can only see the UK and how much of each energy type is being used at any one time and a total CO2 usage figure for the nation.

The GridCarbon app helps you easily see the mix of fuel types in use in real time across the UK. The data gets converted into carbon intensity values by weighting each generation type’s contribution to total generation as well as its own carbon intensity.

They even have dark mode for Android, which is sure to help save your battery.
