Providing The World’s Litter Data in an effort to create a litter free world.
So what happens is you can take a picture and then see what litter is in the picture. Like no, not just you see a picture, Litterati will classify based on what brand the litter is from. Along with data form other people in your community, it starts to find patterns and can identify where the litter is coming from. Then as a group, you can come together with others in your community and decide the most appropriate steps to make a difference in stopping the litter getting onto your streets.
Litterati is litterally empowering you to create a cleaner planet by turning information into actionable insight.

NOAA Marine Debris Tracker
This is a mobile app first seen in 2010, designed to track the movement of rubbish across bodies of water. Run by the University of Georgia College of Engineering, the Marine Debris Tracker is a joint initiative between the NOAA Marine Debris Program and the Southeast Atlantic Marine Debris Initiative.
If you check in when you find rubbish along a coastline or waterway, you’ll help collect data hat will have a real impact on stopping rubbish getting into waterways. This tool is a great way to get involved in local and global data collection. When you spot an offending item, you can categorise it using the app’s variety of debris-specific sections used to categorise and track items. In total there are 25 organisations shown. You can then view the individual users or groups who are the Top Trackers, excelling in their marine debris collection efforts for that specific list.
One of the best things about this clean app is its availability in several languages. Makes us feel more together, right? To make it into more of a game, the NOAA Marine Debris Tracker allows you to view the top trackers who could be individuals or groups, who have excelled in their marine debris collection efforts.
The first ever reliable and freely available tool to identify global pollution trends.
This clean app is all about finding and reporting rubbish to help track it. In fact, Planet Patrol is touted as being the first ever reliable and freely available tool to identify global pollution trends.
Planet Patrol are publicly invested in the environment by positing regularly on their blog. Then not just do they help report litter, they want to take action with the treats of polution we have all around us.
They take a look at British rivers, investing time in trying to reduce plastic waste and other polutants that end up there. Working to eliminate single use materials to help protect the environment and the future of our British countryside.
If Planet Patrol can help change behaviours of the public, they can stop us making harmful choices. Creating a community called Planet Patrollers, the more communities that get going and consume less, pick up more and connect with nature, then the better off our planet will be.
Planet Patrol also state they perform research into the environmental impacts of products to shed light on negative impacts. Then, they can make tools for businesses to eliminate waste so we don’t have to deal with it in the environment. It really is all about helping individuals in companies to want positive change, then helping them get together and see the benefits that can be there for the company if they do it.
PaperKarma is an app that helps you take control of junk mail to help save the earth. You take a picture of the unwanted junk mail and this cool app will help you try to stem the flow.
You can take a stand against catalogs, magazines, cupon books, credit card offers, white pages, yellow pages and anything else that comes through your door. Using the picture you take, PaperKarma searched through its database of unwanted bulk mail senders to identify the company responsible. Once the offenders have been identified, PaperKarma will request that your name (if they have it) and address be removed from their mailing list. You can even get info about the company that sent it in the app.
Buuuuuuut, it’s still a paid app and seems to be only available in America because it costs $3.99 per month, $15.99 if you sign on for six months or $60 if you choose to sign up for life. For this reason, we haven’t given this one a whirl yet, but the idea sounds really good.
Get it on Android.

Report environmental concerns with the click of your camera’s button.
Just like several other clean apps on this list, you can use this app to report environmental concerns with the click of your camera’s button. The solution they seem to have made is one that works as an SaaS cleanup tool for councils and also for individual people to report litter, excess litter and dumping to the authority responsible for doing the cleanup.
If you make an account on their website, you can even just make reports from there. To sign up, you’ll need to use your email address, your Google account, Microsoft account, or connect with social media websites Facebook or Twitter. If you’re already signed up through the app, you can still make reports online by requesting a password.

The place to go if you want to borrow something for a short time, connecting regular people so you get great deals. All rentals include insurance thanks to Fat Llama’s partnership with Hiscox insurance.
Kind of like back in the day when you could ask neighbours to borrow stuff you needed like a power drill or petrol lawnmower…not that we’d approve of a fossil fuelled lawnmower when there are great electrical alternatives available.
This is a composting machine app for use with the Lomi home composting machine. This app helps you to understand the modes of your composter, things you can do with it, how it works, and tips on environmentally friendly articles like ways to reduce food waste.
Many would complain the app is really basic and basically a how-to manual. This is something we’d agree with, but we’re adding it to our list of greatest apps for now because we’ve reviewed to product and believe in it.
Who knows what great new app features will be added in the coming year or two? If they do9 add cool features, they could even market this to potential customers as a way to get more customers in the long run.
